Here is a fascinating study produced for the International Trade Commission that uses international cost of living estimates from the Economist Intelligence Unit in an attempt to quantify the impact of non-tariff trade barriers. The study also makes use of complaints from business groups. It's a direct analogy to what we are trying to accomplish with the Cost of Living Project.
